The Silly Season

As a year-round bicycle-commuter I’m no stranger to the erratic behaviour of motorists. Every month brings a new mental-midget encounter, but in the weeks leading up to Christmas driving standards reach rock-bottom and it’s wise to be cautious.

Folks are just more distracted at this time of year. Chatting on cellphones, returning home from office parties with elevated eggnog levels, rushing to the shops for that last-minute Barbie doll or cheesy-combustible – these are dangerous times!

So be careful out there CIA readers and ride a little more defensively than usual. An idiot seen is an idiot avoided.

Seldom happier than when riding his bike, Antoine sniffs out bicycle-art from around the world for his Friday Frivolity posts or “reinterprets” logos himself. His own cycling adventures can be found on Bike Friendly North Shore, a bike-culture blog for those north of the Coathanger.
