Seldom happier than when riding his bike, Antoine sniffs out bicycle-art from around the world for his Friday Frivolity posts or “reinterprets” logos himself. His own cycling adventures can be found on Bike Friendly North Shore, a bike-culture blog for those north of the Coathanger.

My Friday evening consisted of a critical mass ride around Boston – really fun event and great to take the streets back for a few hours. Is there anything similar in Auckland? I've never seen anything take place – but then it's easy to miss I guess. What I loved was the excitement on people's faces when they saw hundreds of bikes taking over the whole road.
Auckland does have a Critical Mass ride but I believe it's only a couple of dozen people.

@rtc akl is still a fledgling state in terms of cycle culture. Cycling as a transport tool is not taken seriously yet. but sports and recreational cycling are much more common.
Thanks for the link – a quick google would have answered my question d'oh.
Looks to be quite a small bunch in akl, I think it needs to hit a few hundred for it to really make cars stop and have enough people to cork off cars at intersections.
