Duking-it-out on the Greenhithe Bridge

7 Mar 2011  |  Posted by

Here’s some shaky footage I shot on my recent Greenhithe adventure. Two hours sitting at the computer and I actually managed to make it look worse than the original, but the wind-roar was successfully replaced with Mr Ellington and I got it up on the internet. I’ll take that as a win.

The next challenge? Changing gear while holding the camera steady. That maneuver was a big fail!

Friends & family are getting a little tired of me banging-on about separated bike-paths, but this is the sort of stuff I dream about. Who wouldn’t want to ride to work on a cycle-path like this one? You’d let your three-year-old commute to kindergarten it’s so safe.

Seldom happier than when riding his bike, Antoine sniffs out bicycle-art from around the world for his Friday Frivolity posts or “reinterprets” logos himself. His own cycling adventures can be found on Bike Friendly North Shore, a bike-culture blog for those north of the Coathanger.

    • That is so cool .. Well done! I have similarly toyed with video but my production was truly horrid.

    • Wonderful anyone wise enough to combine cycling with Edward Kennedy Ellington must be wise indeed!
I am from south of Auckland but still looking for a really good site showing the various cycling tracks around the city….

    • Thanks Roger. I've got a couple of ride ideas on CIA if you type "Great Rides" in our search button. They were all in the "Where To" area on the navigation bar but have vanished?

"Caravan" just happened to be the right length and is one of my favourites!
