Lawyer Pippa Coom was last night elected deputy chairwoman of the Waitemata Local Board in the heart of Auckland City. She is project manager and membership secretary for Cycle Action Auckland.
The board wants increased provision of walkways and cycleways on the waterfront and the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
She arrived at the meeting on her vintage black bicycle.

Cycle Action Auckland – a voice for cyclists

Thanks for posting this report from the Herald Mark. We have a strong Local Board committed to improving Auckland's cycling infrastructure.
Funny how things are described though. My "vintage" black bicycle is in fact a new Velorbis which I have thanks to the Urban Bicycle Co (www.urbanbicycle.co.nz)
