Should we ride it? Yes we should!

Keep Sunday July 25 free.  And you might want to tell your cycling friends too.  The NZTA website says that on this day, the Mangere Bridge Open Day will be open to the public to walk along.  But there seems to be some sort of oversight.  The invitation does not include cyclists.  It must be just a simple error.  Anyway, Cycle Action is on to it.  It should be easy enough to organise.  My children loved cycling on the Mt Roskill section of the SH20 motorway before it opened.  I’m sure they would enjoy this one even more. The views will be breathtaking.  And it would really warm my heart to see lots of cyclists on the bridge.  Should we ride it?

    • The Manukau Harbour Crossing Alliance and the NZ Transport Agency are inviting anyone interested to walk or ride across the almost completed duplicate bridge on Sunday July 25th.

Walkers will be allowed onto the bridge until 1.30pm. Cyclists will be given access only between 2.30 and 3pm.

Entry to the new bridge will only be through the main gate leading to the Project Office on Waterfront Road Reserve, on the Mangere Bridge side of the old bridge at the northern end of Coronation Road..
