Woah. Inundated with downpours and massive deadlines this week. I managed to forget about the community cycling meeting and couldn’t attend Critical Mass. Sad face. Anyway, here is this week’s collection of interesting stuff from around the interwebs.
- I quite like this lazy woman’s hub cleaning scheme. Especially with all the gunk collected as a result of this week’s raindump
- But rain is good for the trees from whence we source material to make carbonwood bikes and bamboo 3-speed commuters
- This Kevlar spider web-like open lattice tube design is pretty fancy!
- Panniers are cool but frame bags are the new cargo “in” thing. Black and reflective piping stifles your style? Don’t worry someone’s got the chic version sussed out.
- Bike rim + U-lock = minimalist rear rack
- Can your bike get any more bling than this?
- But even though diamonds are many girls’ best friends, they are not the reason more women are not cycling. Bike Shop Girl responds in kind.
- One thing this girl does like are cupcakes. Nom nom nom!
- And good ol’ steampunk bikes
- Rod brakes look a bit steampunkish and Bikejuju posted a nice photo essay on how they work
- Awesome employers, Google celebrates Bike to Work Day in style.
- Finally, I guess the Auckland council has figured out the Tamaki Drive thing and are starting work next week. Yuss!

Thanks for the link. Love the mafia video.
