Nifty folding bike stolen!

2 May 2010  |  Posted by

Ian’s folding bicycle was stolen today from his home in Westmere.

It’s an aluminium silver folding Komda with a ‘My Favorite Cycle’ tagline. 16″ wheels and 6 speed derailleur gears. The seat post is pretty scratched from sliding up and down and has/had a soft seat cover, front and rear lights and a bell.

Do keep an eye out for this either on the streets or on Trade Me/Sella/T&E. I hope your bicycle finds its way back to you, Ian.

For the rest of us, no matter how relatively safe Auckland is, it’s another timely reminder to add your bike to the National Bike Registry (or MyBikeNumber) and update your contents insurance details.

    • That's pretty stink! Had a friend lose her electric bike once (it was parked outside her home) and then about a year later, then saw it on another critical masser who bought it off TM. too wierd.

    • Nooooooooo…! Stink luck. Makes me fear for my quiver of rare and cool bikes with no insurance value. How did the baddies get away with it? Any hints to keep the rest of us safe? And, I once had a Klein stolen only to find it under the thief two years later – followed him, grabbed a passing policeman, and busted him, booya! It is possible – keep an eye out. Good luck and share hints!
