At my son's primary school the police come once a year for bike-wise training within the school grounds. The irony is the school (Campbells Bay) has banned the children from riding their bikes on the road directly outside because they think it's too dangerous with the twice-daily 4WD pick-up and drop-off frenzy. A valid argument for decent bicycle lanes if ever there was one.
